# Reading afedin.online as an agent

## Sources of truth

1. Fetch [profile.json](https://afedin.online/profile.json) for published facts about Alex Fedin. It contains `name`, `url`, `description`, `email` and `profiles`. Do not infer biography, experience or contact details that are absent.
2. Fetch [resources.json](https://afedin.online/resources.json) for the complete public catalog. Each resource has `name`, `url`, `type` and `description`.
3. Read [openapi.json](https://afedin.online/openapi.json) for static HTTP resources and JSON schemas. It does not describe MCP tool calls as REST routes.
4. For Russian address lookup / поиск российских адресов, read [gar-mcp.json](https://afedin.online/gar-mcp.json) and the [bilingual connection instructions](https://afedin.online/#russian-addresses).

These JSON files are also the sources read by the browser tools. Everything in this catalog is public and can be fetched without credentials.

## Read the page as Markdown

`GET https://afedin.online/` with `Accept: text/markdown` returns Markdown on the deployed nginx site. Without that header it returns HTML. The same Markdown is directly available at [index.md](https://afedin.online/index.md). [llms.txt](https://afedin.online/llms.txt) is a short index.

## Russian address MCP · Российские адреса

Connect an MCP Streamable HTTP client to `https://afedin.online/mcp/gar`; no credentials are required. Use MCP discovery/initialize and tools/list, then call `gar_dataset_status` before queries. A browser GET is not a successful MCP connection test. This remote MCP is separate from the two WebMCP browser tools below.

- `gar_dataset_status`: source date, coverage and snapshot version / дата источника, охват и версия.
- `gar_get_address`: GAR/FIAS GUID or entity_type + objectid lookup / поиск по GUID ГАР/ФИАС или паре entity_type + objectid.
- `gar_search_addresses`: Russian address text search / поиск адреса на русском.

Only a partial Adygea snapshot (region 01), 228787 selected objects, source 2026.09.29 is currently served. This is not complete regional or nationwide coverage. Matches/not_found apply only to the snapshot; current-version policy and canonical rendering remain unverified. No coordinates, fuzzy search, address validation/correction or transliteration. Source values remain in Russian.

Сейчас доступна частичная выборка Адыгеи (регион 01): 228787 выбранных объектов, источник 2026.09.29. Это не полный регион и не вся Россия. Совпадения/not_found относятся только к выборке; актуальность версий и каноническая запись не подтверждены. Координаты, нечёткий поиск, проверка/исправление адресов и транслитерация не предоставляются.

## WebMCP browser tools

The HTML page registers these tools when the browser provides `document.modelContext.registerTool`:

Parse `content[0].text` as JSON. The output data conforms to `Profile` or `ResourceCatalog` in OpenAPI. A failed fetch returns `isError: true` and a short retry message. These are browser tools; use the direct JSON URLs when WebMCP is unavailable.
